Importing the ARA Project module

To import the ARA Project module to BMC Atrium Orchestrator, you can choose between the following options:

  • Run a command line that invokes the AO Installer Platform Utilities and imports the ARA Project module to BMC Atrium Orchestrator. A batch file named ao-install-cmd.bat, which contains a command line for such an import, is provided along with the platform-utilities-7.6.04.00.jar and ARA2_Project.7.6.00.00.roar files (within the ARA Workflow Job kit discussed in Contents-of-ARA-Workflow-Job-kit). To use this method, you must have Java 1.6 or later installed. To use the batch file, you must first set the values of the following parameters within it:

    Parameter

    Description

    JAVA_HOME

Path to the Java installation home directory (Java 1.6 or later).

    AO_CDP_HOST

The IP address or fully-qualified host name of the BMC Atrium Orchestrator CDP (Configuration Distribution Peer) server.

    AO_CDP_PORT

The port number for connecting to the BMC Atrium Orchestrator CDP.

    AO_USER_NAME

The name of the BMC Atrium Orchestrator user used to log on to the CDP. This user must be associated with the ADMIN role in BMC Atrium Orchestrator.

    AO_PASSWORD

The BMC Atrium Orchestrator password used to log on to the CDP.

After importing the ARA Project module, you must activate the module through the BMC Atrium Orchestrator Grid Manager.

Note:

  • If necessary, you can use the Development Studio of BMC Atrium Orchestrator to review and customize the processes within the ARA Project module to suit your unique needs.
  • For the execution of the SCM script, the ARA Project module looks for the NSH Script directory in the default location of a BMC BladeLogic Network Shell installation, that is, in *C:\Program Files\BMC Software\BladeLogic\8.1\NSH\scripts*. If the Network Shell was installed in a different location on the BMC Atrium Orchestrator host computer, you must change the value of the NSHScriptDirectory configuration item (within the ARAConfiguration configuration group in the ARA2_Project module) to the correct location.
