Description and reference

Step 1: Configure BMC Remedy ITSM

BMC Remedy ITSM

Do the following:

  • Configure BMC Remedy ITSM to interact with the artifacts.
For more information about the BMC Remedy artifacts, see BMC-Remedy-server-integration-artifacts.
  • Configure the following roles in BMC Remedy ITSM to support the Continuous Compliance for Network Automation solution:
    • The BMC Remedy user who approves Network Changes must be assigned the Infrastructure Change Approver Role. This is needed to enable Change tickets created using the Network Change template to be Scheduled.
    • The Support Group for which the Network Change template is authored must be assigned the Infrastructure Change Manager functional role.

Note: These procedures use the Application Administration Console. For more information, see Using the Application Administration Console in the BMC Remedy ITSM documentation.

Step 2: Configure and enable the required adapters

BMC Atrium Orchestrator

Use Grid Manager to complete the configuration of the following required adapters:

  • BMC Remedy AR System application
  • BMC Network Automation
  • ITSM Web Services
  • BMC Remedy Monitor
  • SNMP Monitor

For details on configuring and enabling these adapters for the solution, see Configuring-and-enabling-adapters-for-Continuous-Compliance-for-Network-Automation.

Step 3: Activate and configure the required modules using Grid Manager

BMC Atrium Orchestrator

Before you can use the BMC Continuous Compliance for Network Automation solution, ensure that the modules are properly integrated to work with the BMC Remedy ITSM system. You must activate and configure the following modules:

  • AMP-AD-BMC-Remedy-ARS
  • AutoPilot-AD-Utilities
  • AutoPilot-OA-Change_Management
  • AutoPilot-OA-Common_Utilities
  • AutoPilot-OA-Configuration_Management
  • AutoPilot-OA-Incident_Management
  • AutoPilot-OA-Task_Management
  • Closed_Loop-SA-Change_Management
  • RBA-AD-BMC_Configuration_Automation_Networks

For details on how to perform this task, see Activating-and-configuring-modules-for-Continuous-Compliance-for-Network-Automation.

Step 4: Configure BMC Network Automation to support the solution
