To set up BMC Server Automation in a Microsoft Hyper-V environment, you:
- install the Windows x64 agent on the SCVMM (System Center Virtual Machine Manager) server
- add the server to the BMC Server Automation Console
- use the BMC Server Automation Console to perform configuration tasks that complete the setup.
Step 1: Review minimum requirements for Microsoft Hyper-V environments
System requirements
To employ BMC Server Automation in a Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environment, you must have the following minimum hardware and software:
- Windows 2008 x 64
Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition x 64, Windows Server 2008 Enterprise Edition x 64, and Windows Server 2008 Datacenter Edition x 64 are supported. - Hyper-V role enabled

The Application Server should be allowed access to the target via the RSCD agent on the SCVMM server.
Required access and privileges
For a Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environment, Administrative privilege access to the SCVMM is required.
Step 2: Install the Windows x 64 agent
- Install the RSCD agent on the SCVMM server, as described in Installing an RSCD agent (Windows). Be sure to install the Windows x64 agent RSCD agent.
- Open the c:\windows\rsc\exports file and edit the last line so it reads:
