Unable to launch BMC Network Automation job details from change task


If you encounter problems launching BMC Network Automation job details from the change task, perform the following steps, according to which use case you are using:

Operator-initiated change

  1. Log on to BMC Remedy User.
  2. From the Task window, display the Data tab.

Two fields are used by the launcher to build the URL: Character 01 and Character 02.

  • Verify Character 01 has a BMC Network Automation Job ID.
  • Verify Character 02 has the BMC Network Automation launch URL.

BMC Remedy-Initiated change

Note the following:

  • Character 01 (Job ID) is not set until the BMC Network Automation user submits a job from the BMC Remedy inbox entry.
  • Character 02 (URL) is set from Application Registry in BMC Remedy when the change ticket is created. 

To verify the Application Registry for BMC Network Automation:

  1. Log on to BMC Remedy User.
  2. On the IT Home page, click the Application Administration Console. The Application Administration Console appears.
  3. Select the Custom Configuration tab.
  4. Select Foundation > Advanced Options > Command Automation Interface -Application Registry
  5. Select the Connection tab to verify the URL in the Server field.
