Upgrading TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform using the wizard

Where you are in the Upgrade process

To upgrade TrueSight Smart Reporting using the wizard

Do the following:

1. Log in to the host computer where you want to upgrade TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.
2. (Windows) On the host computer, ensure that you have Administrator privileges.
3. Download the product files on the host computer.

4. On the host computer, extract the downloaded files to a location other than the following directories to avoid any file sharing conflicts:

   • (Windows) C:\Program Files
   • (Linux) /tmp
5. Back up the following:
   
   • TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform or Yellowfin database
   • TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform file system
   • Report content. For more information, see Exporting-importing-and-backing-up-report-content.
6. Go to the SmartReporting/Disk1 directory of the extracted folder and do the following:
   • (Windows) Run the setup.exe file.
   • (Linux) Ensure that the setup.bin file has the execute permission and run the setup.bin file.
7. Select a language and click OK.
8. On the Welcome page, click Next.
9. Read the licence agreement, agree to the terms, and click Next.

10. On the directory selection page, browse to the installed directory of the previous TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform installation, and click Next.

    Important: Select the correct directory.

    Ensure that you select the correct directory. If you select any directory other than the previous installation directory, the product is installed again.

11. Review the version information and click Next.

    Important: Ensure that this is not a fresh installation

    Ensure that you can see the old and the new versions of the product. If the installer asks for the port number, then this is a fresh installation. In this case, do not continue with the installation and verify the installation directory again.

12. Review the installation details. You can see the following message:
    Upgrading TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform to 20.02
13. Click Install and wait for the installation process to complete.
14. On the Installation Summary page, you can see the button to view the TrueSightSmartReporting_install_log.text file.
    All log files are available in the %TEMP% directory.
15. Click Done to complete the upgrade process.
    To know more about the installation progress and status, see the following files:
    • (Windows) \temp\TrueSightSmartReporting_install_log.txt
    • (Unix) /tmp/TrueSightSmartReporting_install_log.txt
16. Apply the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 20.02.00.001 hotfix.
    Note: Mandatory stepIt is mandatory to apply this hotfix on version 20.02.
    Do the following:

    1. Navigate to the  FTP location for this hotfix.
    2. Download and unzip the TrueSightSmartReporting_HotFix_20.02.00.001.zip file.
    3. Stop the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform service.
    4. Navigate to the <install_location>\appserver\webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF\lib directory and take a backup of the i4-mi.jar file.
    5. Replace the existing i4-mi.jar file with the file from the extracted.
    6. Start the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform service.
