Applying the 20.02.02 service pack

This page provides information about applying the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 20.02.02 service pack by using the wizard or silently.

Upgrade path

You can upgrade to version 20.02.02 from TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform version 20.02 or 20.02.01. You cannot install version 20.02.02 as a fresh installation.

To apply the service pack using the wizard

Important: Do this before applying the patch

Ensure that sufficient disk space is available before you upgrade the product. For more information about the required disk space, see Performance-and-scalability-recommendations.
Open the <install_directory>\appserver\logs\tsrplatform.log file and ensure that you can see the following message:
INFO (ComponentHeartbeatTask:run) - Starting heartbeat for all the components in Connected and Disconnected state.
This means that TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform is up and running and you can proceed to upgrade to version 20.02.02.

Do the following:

Log in to the computer where you have installed TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 20.02 or 20.02.01.
(Windows) On the host computer, ensure that you have Administrator privileges.
Download the product files on the host computer.
On the host computer, extract the downloaded files to a location outside the following directories to avoid any file sharing conflicts:
- (Windows) C:\Program Files
- (Linux) /tmp
Back up the following:
- TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform or Yellowfin database
- TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform file system
- Report content. For more information, see Exporting-importing-and-backing-up-report-content.
Go to the SmartReporting/Disk1 directory of the extracted folder and do the following:
- (Windows) Run the setup.exe file.
- (Linux) Run the setup.bin file.
On the installer screen, click OK.
On the Welcome page, click Next.
Read the license agreement, agree to the terms, and click Next.
Review the installation details. You can see the following message:
Upgrading TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 20.02 to 20.02.02
Click Install and wait for the installation process to complete.
(Optional) On the Installation Summary page, click the View Logs button to view the TrueSightSmartReporting_Patch_log.txt file.
All log files are available in the %TEMP% (Windows) or /tmp (Linux) directory.
Click Done to complete the upgrade process.

(Optional) If you are installing TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform in a disaster-recovery environment, do the following:
1. On the primary server, complete steps 1 to 13.
2. On the secondary server, if you have not yet installed TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform 20.02 with the 20.02.00.002 hotfix, install the product with the 20.02.00.002 hotfix. For more information, see Technical-bulletin-Announcing-hotfix-20-02-00-002.
3. Apply the 20.02.02 service pack. To do this, complete steps 1 to 13.
For TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse, if you have not configured a custom TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform certificate in your component, import the server certificate in the component.
