Upgrading the Tomcat application
This version of TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform contains an inbuilt Apache Tomcat application version 9.0.30. You can upgrade the Tomcat application to a 9.0.x version that is later than 9.0.30.
Do the following:
Download a Tomcat application to a 9.0.x version that is later than 9.0.30 from the following website:
https://tomcat.apache.org/download-90.cgi- Stop the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform service.
- Take a backup of the following directories:
- <install_directory>/appserver/lib
- <install_directory>/appserver/bin
- Delete all files from the <install_directory>/appserver/lib directory.
- From the Tomcat directory that you downloaded, copy all .jar files from the /lib directory.
- From the /bin directory, copy the following files and paste them into the <install_directory>/appserver/bin folder:
- All .jar files.
If there are any files with the same name, replace them. - (Windows) All tomcatx executable files, where x is the version number.
For example tomcat9.exe, tomcat9.exe.x64, and tomcat9w.exe
- All .jar files.
- Ensure that the files in the following directories are given all permissions as before:
- <install_directory>/appserver/lib
- <install_directory>/appserver/bin
- Open the <install_direcotory>/appserver/conf/server.xml file.
- Search for the Connector tag and add the following parameter at the end of the tag:
server="Application Server"
For example, see the following image:
- Start the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform service.
- Verify that Tomcat application is upgraded. Do the following:
- Run the following URL:
https://<hostname>:<port>/info.jsp - Verify that the Application Sever property displays the upgraded application version.
- Run the following URL:
