Upgrading from TrueSight Orchestration 7.8.x and 7.9 with ASSO to 8.1 with RSSO

The upgrade methods are similar to the methods for installing a new product. You run the installation program from a graphical user interface (GUI) or from a command line. This section provides an overview of the upgrade process and the procedures for performing platform upgrades with the GUI and command-line options.

Warnig

From TrueSight Orchestration Platform 7.9.01 onwards, BMC Atrium Single Sign-On is no longer supported. When you upgrade to platform 8.1, Atrium Single Sign-On is replaced by Remedy Single Sign-On. For more information, see Supported upgrade paths.

Before upgrading

Before upgrading, review the following information.

Note

This upgrade does not support migrating users and groups from Atrium Single Sign-On to Remedy Single Sign-On. You need to recreate your users, groups, and group assignments when RSSO is installed in your environment (see Creating-and-managing-local-users-and-roles-in-Remedy-Single-Sign-On).

  • If you are upgrading with the embedded RSSO service, after the upgrade, in RSSO recreate your local users and groups (called roles in RSSO) and assign users to the appropriate roles.
  • If you are upgrading with an external RSSO service, before or after the upgrade, in RSSO recreate your local users and groups (called roles in RSSO) and assign users to the appropriate roles.
