Downloading content from the repository

You can download adapters and modules as files that you can save to physical media and transport to another repository. This capability enables you to maintain multiple repositories, separated physically or by firewalls. For example, you may download and upload content between your production and development repositories.

You can only download a single revision of an adapter or module at a time.

To download content from the repository

  1. Log on to the Repository Manager, and click the Content tab.
Content includes adapters and modules installed in the repository.
  2. In the Adapters tab, adapters available in the repository appear.
Details such as the Author, Version/Revision of the adapter, date when the adapter is last modified are displayed.
  3. To download a specific revision of the adapter, expand the adapter name, and then expand till you see the revisions of the adapter in the repository.
If you want to see more information about the adapter/module, click theInfo icon.pngicon next to a content revision. Information such as the name of the content, original date of creation, last modified, description is displayed. For more information, see Viewing-additional-information-about-content.
  4. Against the revision that you want to download, click Download content.pngDownload.
The adapter file (.aroar) is downloaded to your computer.

    Note

As you can only download one revision of an adapter or module at a time, the Download button is available only when you view the revision.

    Manage Content_Download.PNG

  5. To download a specific revision of the module, click the Modules tab and expand the module name till you see the revisions of the module in the repository.
  6. Click Download content.pngDownload against the revision that you want to download.
The module file (.roar) is downloaded to your computer. Depending on your browser settings, you may be asked to save the file at your chosen location or the file is downloaded in your default downloads folder.

    Note

When you download adapters or modules, the default file names are:

    • Adapter: adapterName_adapterVersion_Year-month-day_timestamp_revisionNumber.aroar
      For example, ro-adapter-remedy-actor_20.19.01.00_2018-10-23_17.58.19_1.aroar
    • Module: moduleName_moduleVersion_Year-month-day_timestamp_revisionNumber.roar
      For example, AutoPilot-OA-Change_Management.20.19.01.00_2018-10-23_17.57.58_1.roar

You can change the file names before uploading the adapter or module to a repository.
