Troubleshooting the BMC TrueSight Operations Management adapter


This topic provides information for troubleshooting issues specific to the BMC TrueSight Operations Management adapter.

Events not getting converted to a common event model and the following error message is displayed: 

java.lang.Exception: Mappings file event-mapping-configuration-truesight.xml not found

This error occurs only if your TrueSight Orchestration Platform version is earlier than 8.1 (8.0, 7.9.x, and 7.8.x).

To resolve the issue, you must update the webservices-rt-2.2.0.jar file to the latest version. 

  1. Stop the CDP service. 
  2. Go to AO_HOME/tomcat/webapps/baocdp/WEB-INF/lib folder.
  3. Replace the webservices-rt-2.2.0.jar file with the latest webservices-rt-2.4.0.jar file.
  4. Restart the peer.

Event with WARNING severity received by the TrueSight Orchestration Monitor Adapter for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management but slot severity in event is not received.

WARNING is the default severity value in the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management application.

To resolve this issue, you must add a configuration parameter to the gateway.imcomm file as follows:

  1. Access the computer on which BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management is installed and navigate to the installHome\pw\server\etc directory.
  2. Open the gateway.imcomm file and then add cond=always.
  3. Restart the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management service.

Unable to monitor events from the admin or any other cell.

  1. (optional) Remove the following line from the mcell.conf file located in $ MCELL_HOME \pw\server\etc\<cellName>
    <serverDirectoryName>=C:\Program Files\ProactiveNet\pw\pronto\data\admin\admin.dir
  2. Recompile the cell.
  3. Restart the cell.
