Starting and stopping peers

You might start and stop a peer if it runs out of memory. The configuration distribution peer (CDP) is the primary peer in the grid. It provides a central administration point and is a workflow execution engine. A CDP in a high-availability (HA-CDP) mode is used during in a fail over system. These CDPs are vital to the functioning of the grid and therefor must not be stooped.

You can start and stop activity peers (APs) and lightweight activity peers (LAPs) from the Status tab.

To start an AP or LAP

  1. On the Grid Manager Status tab, click the name of the grid.
  2. On the Status page for the grid, select the Components tab.
  3. Select the check box in the peer column below the peer name; then click the peer Start icon.

To stop an AP or LAP

  1. On the Grid Manager Status tab, click the name of the grid.
  2. On the Status page for the grid, select the Components tab.
  3. Select the check box in the peer column below the peer name; then click the peer Stop icon.
