Configuring an alternate tmp directory
During the installation, the installation program requires tmp space equal to about twice the size of the installation program. Without the required space, errors can occur which can impact the success of the installation. As a general guideline, you need at least 512 MB of free tmp space.
If you run the installation program and tmp does not have sufficient space, an error message similar to the following example appears on the console:
WARNING: /tmp does not have enough disk space!
