Prerequisites for the HP Storage Essentials adapter

Before you install the adapter, ensure that you perform the following steps:

  1. Install the HPCLI utility on the system where the peer (CDP, LAP, or AP) is enabled. 

    Note

    The user account used to install the peer must have read, write, and execute permissions for all the HPCLI files.

  2. Include the path to the bin directory inside the HPCLI installation in the PATH variable so that you can run commands from the command line.
  3. Enter appiqconfig on the command prompt.
  4. Enter a valid user name using which you can connect to the HP Storage Essentials application.
  5. Enter a password for the specified user name.
  6. Enter the IP address or host name where the HP Storage Essentials application is installed.
  7. Press Enter for the transport and port values.
  8. Enter std for ErrorOutput.
