Adapter requests and responses for the FTP adapter

The FTP adapter uses the FTP command as tag names in the request. The FTP adapter does not use any actions. You must leave the adapter's Action field blank when configuring the activity properties for a Call Adapter activity in BMC Atrium Orchestrator Development Studio.

Sample requests and responses are provided for each of the commands available for this adapter. These samples are basic and do not reflect all the available features for this adapter.

The FTP adapter supports different methods for designating the target information in an adapter request. For more information about the different methods for designating the target information in an adapter request, see Dynamic targets.

Note

Starting with the 20.12.02 release, the FTP adapter supports Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) for directing internet traffic and for routing. For details, see Support for IPv6.

You can specify an IPv6 address with a zone ID for the <host> element in the adapter requests—for example, <host>fe80::5097:4c5e:2289:76dd%10</host>.
To find the zone ID of the required computer, see Zone ID for an IPv6 address.

If the FTP server does not support an active mode for transferring files, you must set <data-transfer-mode> to 'PASSIVE' for transferring files using IPV6.

Use the adapter request XML when you create a custom process by using the Call Adapter activity in BMC Atrium Orchestrator Development Studio.

The commands supported by the FTP adapter are listed in the following table:
