Enabling the Virtual Data Center
You can enable the Virtual Data Center (VDC) during installation or upgrade, or you can enable it later.
To enable VDC manually
- Log on to the TrueSight Network Automation application server as a system administrator or user with access to the BCAN_DATA directory.
- Back up the BCAN_DATA\global.properties file.
For details about this file, see Default-global-properties-file. - Use a text editor to open the global.properties file.
- Locate the following lines:
# Indicates if virtual datacenter functionality is enabled.
# Default is false. - Ensure that the following line in the file contains a value of true and is not commented out:
vdcEnabled=true - Save the file and close the editor.
Restart the TrueSight Network Automation application server.
- Use a web browser to log on to the TrueSight Network Automation user interface as system administrator or user with access to the Admin tab.
- Select Admin > Network Admin > Device Adapters. See Managing-device-adapters.
- Enable the custom actions and external script actions that are needed by the container blueprint which you want to use for provisioning containers, as follows:
- In the Adapter column, expand Custom Actions or External Script Actions.
- Click
Enable to the right of each adapter that you want to enable, and then click OK in the confirmation dialog box.
- In the Adapter column, expand Custom Actions or External Script Actions.
