About device adapters

TrueSight Network Automation ships with built-in device adapters for a large number of vendors and models. If your system administrator wants to support other devices, you can create additional required adapters.

The purpose of the device adapter management module is to manage the following supported entities:

  • Vendors
  • Device types
  • Configuration trails
  • Custom actions
  • External script actions

These entities are referred to as adapters. You can manage them from the TrueSight Network Automation UI without restarting the TrueSight Network Automation application server. This ensures higher availability of the application server.
