Deleting groups
The following task describes how to delete a previously defined group.
You cannot delete a group that is currently referenced by any other component (such as job, policy, rule set, or combo group). You must clear these references manually before the group can be deleted successfully. Auto-groups can be deleted manually at any time only if they are empty. When a group is deleted, all the member devices are no longer members of the group.
Logged events associated with the deleted group are retained (until aged out) and remain viewable in the Events viewer. The same is true of jobs that ran on the deleted group; such completed jobs are retained until purged and their detailed results remain viewable.
To delete a group
- Open the Groups page by navigating to Network > Spans > Groups.
- Identify the group you want to delete in the list of groups.
- In the row of the relevant group, click Delete
.
- Click OK in the confirmation message.
