Viewing a Transcript Comparison report
The Transcript Comparison report enables you to compare device interaction transcripts. This report is useful, for example, to compare custom action results gathered at different times or from different devices.
To generate a Transcript Comparison report
- Open the Transcript Comparison report wizard page by navigating to Reports > Status Reports > Transcript Comparison.
- Optionally, enter an annotation (to identify this report when it appears in a list among other reports) and enable an email notification to be sent when the report generation is complete and the report is ready for viewing.
- In the Compare Transcript(s) From section, click Browse
to display the Select Job window.
On the Select Job window, select the Job ID for the job which generated the transcript of interest.
From the Action list, select an action for that job.
- In the To section, click Browse and select the Job ID for the job which generated the other transcript of interest.
- From the Action list, select an action for that job.
The example shown in the following figure compares transcripts of actions for two jobs. - Click Next.

Compare Transcript(s) For
- All Common Devices: Compares all the devices that appear in both selected actions.
- Selected Common Devices: Compares particular devices that appear in both actions.
- Specific Pair of Devices: Compares a different device from each selected action.
Include Transcript Sections
- All Sections: Compares all transcript sections in the selected actions.
- Selected Sections: Compares only specific (one or more) transcript sections.
The example shown in the following figure compares two devices from each selected action with a set of selected transcript sections.
- Click Next to begin the report generation and to display its progress on the Report Activity page.
- Click Refresh until the report is completed, or wait until you receive the notification email. If the report is aborted, the Progress column indicates so, to alert you that the report data is partial. You can view the partial report, but be aware it is partial. You should refine your selections (if you asked for too-large a report) or re-generate the report (if it was aborted due to a system shutdown) in order to obtain a complete report. Then delete the aborted report as soon as possible. For more information about the Report Activity page, see Viewing-report-activity.
Click the Transcript Comparison link in the Report column to display the report.
Verify the report is complete. If the report was aborted, the title and the Report Generation information in the footer inform so, and the footer informs you about the user who aborted it. An aborted report will be missing one or more devices.
The Transcript Comparison report shows a summary of the sections that differ between transcripts of the selected device actions.
(Optional) Perform one of the following tasks by using the menu options that are available on the Transcript Comparison report page:

Return to the wizard to change report parameters and generate a new version of the report.

Export the report to one of the following formats:
- HTML
- RTF
Email
Email the report to one or more recipients in one of the export formats.
Back
Return to the Report Activity page.

to display the Transcript Difference Details report.
