Changing user passwords

This topic provides instructions on changing the password of a user.

To understand the concept of users, see Managing-users

Important

The option to change the user password is available only when using local and SAML 2.0 authentication. This option is not available when authenticating user logins with a Microsoft Active Directory, RADIUS, TACACS+, or an OpenLDAP server.

When you log in for the first time, you are prompted to change your assigned password. In addition, The referenced document [xwiki:Automation-DevSecOps.Network-Automation.TrueSight-Network-Automation.tsna251.TrueSight Network Automation 25\.1._Inclusion-Library._Common-terminology.WebHome] was not found. might force you to change your password within a specified period, as defined by the system administrator under Admin > System Admin > System Parameters. The system administrator can restrict you from reusing your old passwords. If you encounter any problems when changing your password, contact your system administrator.

Important

When any user changes the password of another user, or changes his/her own password via the Edit User page (not via the Change Password page), the system terminates all the active sessions for the updated user upon successful commit of the change. In earlier versions, active sessions are not terminated.

To change a user password

Navigate to the right top corner of the Home page, and do the following

  1. Click the user name, and select Change Password.

    Notes
