This topic provides instructions on adding and editing a static group.
Note
All groups with a value of Yes in the Auto-Group column were created and are managed by the The referenced document [xwiki:Automation-DevSecOps.Network-Automation.TrueSight-Network-Automation.tsna251.TrueSight Network Automation 25\.1._Inclusion-Library._Common-terminology.WebHome] was not found. system based on device attributes. You cannot modify which devices belong to an auto group through this window. Change the device attribute to assign the device to another auto group.
By default, the Groups page displays auto-groups as well. If you choose the Exclude option in the Auto-Group column header, this page does not display the groups that are auto-grouped.
On the Network > Spans > Groups page, do the following:
Do one of the following:

- To create a new group by duplicating and editing an existing group. click Copy
in the Actions column. - To edit an existing group, click Edit

On the Details tab, enter the following information:
The [confluence_table-plus] macro is a standalone macro and it cannot be used inline. Click on this message for details.
This macro generates standalone content. As a consequence you need to make sure to use a syntax that separates your macro from the content before and after it so that it's on a line by itself. For example in XWiki Syntax 2.0+ this means having 2 newline characters (a.k.a line breaks) separating your macro from the content before and after it.
- On the Devices tab, specify the devices to include in the group.
- To add devices to be included in a group, click Add and then select devices from the list of detected devices.
- To remove a device from the list, select the device and click Remove. To remove all devices, click Remove All.
To import devices from a text file that you want to be included in a group, click Import and then browse to the text file containing one device per line. If a device in the text file does not exist in the realm you have selected on the Details tab, the device is not included in the group. The following sample text file lists a set of devices that you can include in a group.
bcan-cisco5510-02
bcan-cisco6510-02
bcan-cisco1200-01
bcan-cisco1760
bcan-fortigate
Click Save.
Note
If the changes that you made by adding or removing groups during this edit session require substantial processing, this might take a few minutes to complete. For example, if you save an edit session for a Group in which you change the number of contained devices from 100 to 200, the resulting background thread might take 10 minutes to update the count value for the Group. The Group list page continues to display a value of 100 during the period until the thread completes.
