Adding a web server to load balancer and firewall


Use the following instructions to add a web server to load balancer and firewall by running an out-of-the box TrueSight Network Automation for Cisco Data Center Services Node predefined job. After running the predefined job, you must configure the load balancer to the web server.

To add a web server to load balancer and firewall

  1. Open the Predefined Jobs page by navigating to Network > Predefined jobs.
  2. Find the row for the Add Server Form and FW Rules for Web Server predefined job, and click the Prepare Job icon in that row.
  3. Select your device options from the Cisco ACE Admin Context and Cisco FWSM System Context to which you want to add the SQL server.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Enter the specific parameters in the Add Server Form and FW Rules for Web Server form.
  6. Click Next.
  7. In the Edit Job page, enter the details of the job run.
  8. Click Save and Submit to schedule the job run.

To configure a load balancer to a web server

  1. To add a web server to an existing server farm on the Cisco Application Control Engine, navigate to Network > Jobs > Add.
  2. In the Add Job page, select Add Action > Span Actions > Deploy to Active.
  3. (Optional) Enter an annotation in Deploy to Active.
  4. Select Network Span > Device.
  5. Click the ellipsis icon for the device and select Cisco ACE.
  6. Choose Configuration > Template.
  7. Click the ellipsis icon for the template and select Add Server to Farm on ACE-WEB.
  8. Click Params and enter values in the Enter Runtime Parameters window.
    You can specify up to 2000 characters in the runtime parameter value.
  9. Click Save
  10. Click the Deploy to Active page.
  11. Enter the details in the Add Job page.
  12. Click Save and Submit.
