Managing custom actions

Custom actions are scripts that are written to perform custom device interaction. The scripts are written using the TrueSight Network Automation system's XML scripting language, as documented in Creating an external script actions job. The XML scripting language is easy to learn and hides complex I/O operations so you can focus on the task at hand.

The custom actions are displayed as menu commands in the Network Automation UI. You can find the corresponding definitions in Admin > Network Admin > Device Adapters. Additional custom actions can also be enabled or activated from the UI to make them available for use.

To create new custom actions, see Developing-a-custom-action-adapter.

For information about importing, exporting, or viewing custom action definitions, see Modifying-device-adapters.
