Adding external links and dynamic fields in TrueSight Network Automation

Entuity Network Analytics UI and exports have been enhanced over a period of time. Entuity Network Analytics UI includes URLs that can be customized. You can then directly click these URLs from the device information window in TrueSight Network Automation. This topic includes the following prerequisite sections:

Add the following external links in Network Automation to access various reports from the device information window:

  • To access the Entuity Advanced Device Details report: http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/objectDetails.do?server=${device.<EntuityServerID>}&menuName=Explorer&view=My Network&id=${device.<EntuityID>}
  • To access the Entuity Device Events report: http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/viewEvents.do?view=My Network&objectId=${device.<EntuityID>}&fltId=eFilter0
  • To access incidents on the Entuity dashbaord: http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/dashboard?dashboardName=Incidents&contextPath=,admin::My Network,sw: ${device.<EntuityServerID>}:${device.<EntuityID>}

    Note

    Starting from version 20.02, Network Automation also supports the following special characters in the external link: ~, [ , ], @, !, ( , ), *, , , and %.

  • Depending on the version of Entuity Network Analytics, use one of the following URLs to access the Entuity Device Summary report:
    • (Version 17.0 Patch P01 and earlier) http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/objectSummary.do?server=${device.<EntuityServerID>}&menuName=Explorer&view=My Network&id=${device.<EntuityID>}
    • (Version 17.0 Patch P02 and later) http://<entuityserver>:<entuitywebport>/webUI/objectSummary.do?server=${device.EntuityServerID}&menuName=Explorer&id=${device.EntuityID}

In the above URLs, you must specify the following IDs using which you can link Network Automation to Entuity Network Analytics by using in-context launches:

  • EntuityServerID
  • EntuityID (Storm ID number, which uniquely identifies an object within Entuity)

Note

To ensure that the new parameters appear correctly, you can optionally choose to select Display in Lists and Display in Filter.

You can then view these two parameters on the Network > Spans > Devices page.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
