About IPv6 support
The TrueSight Network Automation application server and Network Automation device agents (local and remote) can be installed on host computers with IPv4, IPv6, or both (dual stack).
Application server and device agent communication
The following table shows which combinations of protocols permit communication between the application server and device agents:
Device agents and network device communication
A device agent installed on a dual-stack host can communicate with IPv4 and IPv6 devices. You must enter the appropriate IP addresses of the device agent for file transfers in the Add or Edit Agent page. For more information see Adding-or-editing-device-agents.
The following table shows which combinations of protocols permit communication between the remote device agent and managed devices:
Application server and database communication
The Network Automation application server can communicate with database services (Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL) by IPv6 protocols.

Device transfer modes
The device transfer modes support IPv6 or dual stack as shown in the following table:
Device access modes
The following access modes used in Network Automation support IPv6 connections:
- Telnet
- SSH
Syslog
Network Automation supports syslog messages sent over IPv6.
SNMP
Network Automation supports SNMP traps sent and received over IPv6.
External authentication
Network Automation supports IPv6 and dual-stack with the following external authentication methods:
- LDAP
- Active Directory (AD)
