Changing the running configuration of a device using SNMP protocol
Telnet or SSH is the ideal method for connecting to a device and making configuration changes. However, when Telnet or SSH does not work, you can use the external script action Revert Device Configuration Via SNMP. This external script action enables you to make configuration changes on a device by using the SNMP protocol. It updates the device's active running configuration.

Ensure that the prerequisites are met before you use the external script action:
- The device is configured with SNMP v1 or v2.
- A valid, read-write community string is configured on the device.
- Only certain Cisco devices are supported. For the list of devices which are not supported, see Unsupported devices.
- The device must support the following Management Information Database (MIB): CISCO-CONFIG-COPY-MIB.
To run the Revert Device Configuration Via SNMP action
