Sizing and scalability considerations

This topic provides recommendations for achieving optimal performance and scalability when deploying TrueSight Network Automation. Components installed include the Network Automation application server on a single host and Network Automation remote device agents on one or more hosts.

Overview of Network Automation deployment

This section describes the components of a Network Automation installation.

Multiple application servers – required for management of more than 25,000 devices

An installation comprising of more than 25,000 devices might require multiple application servers and remote device agents.

See Installing for more information.

Note that when there are multiple application servers, the servers are not truly clustered, that is, they do not share data or content. It might be necessary to synchronize content by exporting the content from one server and importing it into the other(s).

Typically synchronized content includes rules and device adapters. See Importing-rules, Exporting-rules, Importing-device-adapters, and Exporting-device-adapters.
