Viewing a Device Adapter Capabilities report
The Device Adapter Capabilities report provides information about enabled device type and custom action adapters. You can use this report to determine what sorts of features are supported by the adapters and to help understand job behavior and error messages. See Supported-devices for the Device Adapter Capability report of the supported Network Automation versions.
To generate a Device Adapter Capabilities report
- Open the Device Adapter Capabilities Report wizard page by navigating to Reports > Support Reports > Device Adapter Capabilities.
- Optionally, enter an annotation (to identify this report when it appears in a list among other reports) and click to enable a notification email to be sent to you when the report is ready to view.
- Select the Device Adapters to display in the report:
- Device Types: Select which enabled device types to display:
- All: Selects all enabled device types.
- Baseline/Modified: Selects device types that were originally shipped with the product.
- New: Selects device types added by your site.
- For Vendor: Selects all device types for a selected vendor.
- One or More Selected: Selects specific device types.
- Custom Actions: Select which enabled custom actions to display:
- All: Selects all enabled custom actions.
- Baseline/Modified: Selects custom actions that were originally shipped with the product.
- New: Selects custom actions added by your site.
- For Menu Group: Selects custom actions for a selected menu grouping.
- One or More Selected: Selects specific custom actions.
- Device Types: Select which enabled device types to display:
- Select the Device Type Information or Custom Actions to include in the report.
- All: Shows all the information in the report. This forces the report to be presented in a non-tabular format.
Selected: Enables you to select one or more specific attributes of interest.
- Select Tabular Format to view the report in a tabular format. Each attribute you selected on the previous page will be displayed in a sortable column in the report.
You can set the order of the columns by dragging the selected fields. - Click Generate to begin the report generation and to display its progress on the Report Activity page.
- Click Refresh until the report is completed, or wait until you receive the notification email. If the report is aborted, the Progress column indicates so, to alert you that the report data is partial. You can view the partial report, but be aware it is partial. You should refine your selections (if you asked for too-large a report) or re-generate the report (if it was aborted due to a system shutdown) in order to obtain a complete report. Then delete the aborted report as soon as possible. For more information about the Report Activity page, see Viewing-report-activity.
- Click the Device Adapter Capabilities link in the Report column to display the report.

The following figure shows the same report in a non-tabular (or linear) format: - Verify the report is complete. If the report was aborted, the title and the Report Generation information in the footer inform you so, and the footer informs you about the user who aborted it. An aborted report will be missing one or more device adapters.

Export the report to one of the following formats:
- CSV
Note: This format is available only when you generate the report in tabular format. Also, this format is not available if you have chosen to include any of the following attributes in the report:- Notes
- Template Content and Formatting
- Adapter Annotation
- HTML
- RTF
Email
Email the report to one or more recipients in one of the export formats.
