Viewing compliance violations

A compliance violation indicates that the configuration is no longer in compliance with one or more assigned rules. This feature allows you to audit established configuration standards.

You can view the compliance violations by generating the Compliance Summary report. This report displays the compliance status for one or more devices for selected or assigned rules sets.

For recommendations on resolving violations see Fixing-compliance-violations.

You can view compliance violations from the Discrepancy and Compliance Violation Details dashboard as well as from the Compliance Summary report. Enable the Display Discrepancy and Compliance Violation Details Dashboard system parameter to display this dashboard.

Viewing a compliance violation from the Discrepancy and Compliance Violation Details dashboard

From the dashboard, you can identify who made the changes, view violations in detail, and optionally resolve the violations for individual devices.

The Dashboard offers the following menu options:

  • Views: Display devices matching a favorite shared device view. When groups or combo groups are displayed, devices matching the selected view are included in the devices with compliance violations counts.
  • Refresh: Update the Dashboard to show current violations.
  • Help: Display Help for the Dashboard page.

Violations can be displayed by devices, groups, or combo groups. When the Dashboard is in group view, a count of the total number of devices within the group (and selected View) with violations is shown.
