Using substitution parameters in templates
Templates can reference command-line substitution parameters that the server resolves when merging or restoring a template to a device. The template below uses a global substitution parameter referenced as ${global.logServer1}.
Do the following to insert substitution parameters in templates:
- While you are on the Contents tab during template configuration, click the Substitution Parameters link in the menu.
- Select the category above the list of parameters (for example, Global, Function, Device, Agent, or Template).
- Click a parameter in the list and press Ctrl+c.
- Close the Substitution Parameters window.
- Place your cursor in the template where you want to insert the parameter, and then press Ctrl+v.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
