Dashboards
When you log in to the
TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse
console as a reporting user, the following dashboards are available in
TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform
: Compliance, Configuration Drift, System Summary, and Inventory.These out-of-the-box dashboards provide summarized and detailed information for the configuration compliance, configuration drifts, change tracking, and inventory in your networking environment.
Prerequisites
To view the dashboards, do the following:
- Install or upgrade to TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse 19.11.02.
- Enable the dashboards display if you haven't enabled them as part of the post-installation or post-upgrade instructions:
- Log in to the Smart Reporting - Platform console as a platform admin user.
- Click Admin Console.
- Navigate to Administration > Admin Console > User Groups.
- Click Add.
- Under Group Details, do the following:
- Provide a name and description for a dashboard user.
- Select the group status value as Active.
- Under Default Dashboard Tabs, do the following:
- From the Dashboard Tab list, select Configuration Drift Dashboard, and click Add.
- Repeat this step to add the Compliance, Inventory and System Summary dashboards.
- Under Member Selection, search for TrueSight Manage Reports, and select it.
- Save the changes.
Analyzing the dashboard information
The dashboards display the following information about your networking environment:
- Compliance dashboard: Displays information about the compliance status of devices.
- Configuration Drift dashboard: Displays information about the configuration drifts (a discrepancy from the Trusted configuration) in devices.
- System Summary dashboard: Displays the top 5 internal and external users, and the number of internal and external configuration changes done by them in devices.
- Inventory dashboard: Displays the summarized information about the distribution of different types of devices across various categories and vendors.
The reports in these dashboards contain the following icons:

Inventory Dashboard
This dashboard provides summarized information about the distribution of different types of devices across various categories and vendors across your networking environment.
The dashboard contains the following reports: Inventory Summary by Device Category (Current), Inventory Summary by Vendor (Current), Top 5 Vendors, and Top 5 OS Versions.
Inventory Summary by Device Category (Current)
This report displays the number and percentage of devices in the system grouped by the device category at the specified point in time.
Inventory Summary By Device Category Pie chart
Key characteristics:
- Each slice of the pie chart represents a device category.
- Hover your mouse over a slice of the chart to view the number and percentage of devices with that device category.
- Click a slice of the pie chart to view the additional details for that category in the Inventory Details report:
- Devices and their details in that category
- Realms and vendors to which the devices belong
Inventory Summary by Vendor (Current)
This report displays the number and percentage of devices in the system grouped by the device vendors at the specified point in time.
Inventory Summary By Vendor Pie Chart
Key characteristics:
- Each slice of the pie chart represents a device vendor.
- Hover your mouse over a slice of the chart to view the number and percentage of devices by that vendor.
- Click a slice of the pie chart to view the additional details for the devices by that vendor in the Inventory Details report:
- Devices and their details by that vendor
- Realms to which the devices belong
Top 5 Vendors
This report displays the top 5 vendors and the number of devices by those vendors for a particular site.
Top 5 OS Versions
This report displays the top 5 OS versions with vendors and the number of devices on which those OSs are installed for a particular site.
System Summary Dashboard
This dashboard displays the top 5 internal and external users, and the number of internal and external configuration changes done by them in the devices in your networking environment.
The dashboard contains the following reports: Top 5 Active Internal Users in Last 7 days, Top 5 Active External Users in Last 7 days, Top 5 Active Internal Users in Last 30 days, Top 5 Active External Users in Last 30 days, Average Number of Internal Changes Per Day, and Average Number of External Changes Per Day
Top 5 Active Internal Users in Last 7 days
This report shows the top 5 internal users who have been active in last 7 days, and the number of configuration changes done by those users.
Top 5 Active External Users in Last 7 days
This report shows the top 5 external users who have been active in last 7 days, and the number of configuration changes done by those users.
Top 5 Active Internal Users in Last 30 days
This report shows the top 5 internal users who have been active in last 30 days, and the number of configuration changes done by those users.
Top 5 Active External Users in Last 30 days
This report shows the top 5 external users who have been active in last 30 days, and the number of configuration changes done by those users.
Average Number of Internal Changes Per Day
This report shows the average number of internal configuration changes done in last 7 days and 30 days.
Average Number of External Changes Per Day
This report shows the average number of external configuration changes done in last 7 days and 30 days.
Compliance Dashboard
This dashboard shows the following reports: Device Compliance Status (Current), Device Compliance by Severity (Current), and Device Compliance Trend by Realm (Last 365 Days).
Device Compliance Status (Current)
This report shows the percentage of the compliant and non-compliant devices.
Device Compliance Status (Current) Pie Chart
Key characteristics:
- Each slice of the pie chart represents the percentage of compliant and non-compliant devices.
- Hover your mouse over a slice of the chart to view the count and percentage of compliant or non-compliant devices.
- Click a slice of the pie chart to view the additional details for the devices in the Device Compliance Details report:
- Violations, such as critical, major, minor, warning, or info for a device
- Device details such as realm, vendor, and category
Device Compliance by Severity (Current)
This report shows the device compliance percentage by violation severity.
Device Compliance By Severity Pie Chart
Key characteristics:
- Each slice of the pie chart represents the percentage of devices that are having a particular type of severity.
- Hover your mouse over a slice of the chart to view the number of devices with a particular type of violation or no violation.
- Click a slice of the pie chart to view the additional details for that violation category in the Device Compliance Details report:
- Device details such as realm, vendor, and category
- Violation categories, such as critical, major, minor, warning, or info for a device
Device Compliance Trend by Realm (Last 365 Days)
This report shows the trend of compliance violations by the devices belonging to the specified realms.
Device Compliance Trend by Realm Line Chart
Key characteristics:
- A trend line is displayed for each realm.
- Hover your mouse over a month to view the number of of devices with the violation.
Configuration Drift Dashboard
The Configuration Drift dashboard provides information about the configuration drifts in your networking environment.
This dashboard shows the following reports: Configuration Drift Status (Current) and Configuration Drift Trend By Realm (Last 365 days)
Configuration Drift Status (Current)
This report shows the percentage of devices having different drift types.
Configuration Drift Status Pie Chart
Key characteristics:
- Each slice of the pie chart represents a drift type and shows the percentage of devices having that drift type.
- Hover your mouse over a slice of the chart to view the number of devices with a particular type of drift.
- Click a slice of the pie chart to view the additional details in the Configuration Drift Detail report:
- Device drift type for a device such as Running Vs Startup, Running Vs Trusted Running, Startup Vs Trusted Startup, and OS Image
- Realm to which a device belongs
Configuration Drift Trend by Realm (Last 365 days)
This report shows the trend of the device configuration drifts belonging to different realms.
Configuration Drift Trend by Realm Line Chart
Key characteristics:
- A trend line is displayed for each realm.
- Click a month on a trend line to view the number of devices with drifts in that month.
- Click a month, and from the pop-up menu, drill down to week and then to day level to view the number of devices with drifts in a particular week or day.
