Customizing out-of-the-box reports
This topic provides instructions on customizing an out-of-the-box report.
To customize an out-of-the-box report, BMC recommends that you save a copy in another folder with a different name, and then modify the copy. Modifying the original version of the out-of-the-box report might result in corrupted reports that might not work in future releases.
In addition, you should not modify the names of the original versions of the out-of-the-box reports to avoid corrupting these reports.
Do the following:
Log in to TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse console as a reporting user. The TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform Home page appears.
- Click the menu icon in the upper left corner.
- Under Browse, click Browse All and expand By Folder > Network Automation - Data Warehouse.
- Expand the report folder for the type of report that you want to customize. For example, to customize the Action Activity Summary report, select the Action Activity Reports folder.
All the available reports are displayed in the main pane. - Right-click the report that you want to copy.
- Click Make a copy.
- Modify the required details.
- Click Publish. In the Save Report window, do the following:
- Enter a name and an optional description for the report.
Select a folder to save the report into. You will only be able to select folders you have access to.
- (Optional) Add tags for the report. Tags are useful for searching for the reports after you generate them.
- In the Report Access area, select Public or Private.
- If you select Public, all users on the tenant can access the report.
- If you select Private, you can see the User Access tab. Use this tab to specify the users who will have access to the report.
- (Optional) Use the Distribution, Report Settings, and Refresh tabs for additional settings.
- Click Save to generate and view the new report. For more information about publishing and saving reports, see the Yellowfin documentation.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
