Running Windows scheduled tasks as administrator
Use the administrator credentials to run the Microsoft Windows scheduled task for the extract, transform, and load (ETL), and purge processes, if any of the following conditions is met:
- The TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse operating system that uses a locale other than U.S. English
- Scheduled tasks cannot be run with a non-admin user
To provide administrator credentials for the Windows scheduled tasks
- Log on the computer where Network Automation - Data Warehouse is installed.
- Right-click the task and select Properties.
- In the Properties window, in the Run As field, enter the Administrator user name. The user name must be in one of the following formats: domainName\Administrator or hostName\Administrator.
- Click Set Password and then enter the password in the pop-up window.
- Click OK in each dialog box.
If you change the password in the future, you must repeat this procedure to update the password.
To run a task if it does not run after providing credentials
If a task still is not running after providing credentials, complete the following procedure. Do this for any task still not running after providing credentials.
- Open the Scheduled Tasks utility in the Windows Control Panel or select Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Task Scheduler.
- Right-click the task that is not running and select Properties.
- Select the Actions tab.
- Select the Start a program action and click Edit.
- In the Start in (optional) field, enter the directory path to the task files.
For example, if you are setting this up for the Purge task on the application server, you can add the following path:
<TSNADW_INSTALL_DIR>\lib\Purge - Click OK.
You are prompted for the Windows user name and password. - Enter the Administrator user name and password and click OK to run the task.
