Exporting and importing report content

This topic provides instructions on exporting and importing the report content.

As a TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse administrator, you can migrate your content between multiple instances, such as from QA to production. You can do this by exporting your content into an external file (such as a yfx or xml file) and then importing that file into the destination system.

Exporting report content

Do the following:

  1.  Log in to TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse console.

    1. Click Start > Programs > TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse > Login.
Alternatively, you can enter the following address into a web browser:
      https://<appServer>:<portNumber>
      • appServer is the server that hosts TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse.
      • portNumber is the Tomcat web server secure port that you specified during installation.

    2. Enter DWNetworkAdmin as the user name.
    3. Enter password for the DWNetworkAdmin user that you created during installation.
You can change the password for the DWNetworkAdmin user ID later.
    4. Click LOG IN.
  2. In the left navigation bar, expand image2019-3-12_7-25-33.png  and go to Administration > Export.
  3. In the Search panel, search for the content that you want to add to the file.
  4. Drag and drop the selected content to the export list panel. You can view the status bar for a quick glimpse into the content you have selected from the file.
  5. (Optional) To view details (description and all of its linked content/dependencies and so on) of each of the export file content, click on a content record.
  1. (Optional) To delete anything from the export list, select and drag it out of the export panel. Alternatively, you can hover over the content item you want to remove until a delete icon appears at the end, and then click on it.
  1. Click Export to display the Export window.
  1. Enter a file name.
  2. (Optional) Enable the Save as template button if you want to save the content you selected for this export file as a template and reuse it. In Template Name, enter a template name.
  3. Click Export. The exported file is saved in the directory where your downloaded items are saved, depending on your browser’s settings.
