Setting up the disaster recovery environment

To set up a disaster recovery environment, you need to install TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse and TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform on secondary nodes.

Setting up the disaster recovery environment for TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse

Do the following:

  1. On the primary node, stop the ETL.
  2. Disable all scheduled tasks (Purge_Warehouse and tsnadw_etl_tsk).
  3. Install TrueSight Network Automation - Data Warehouse on the secondary node. While installing provide details of the existing Network Automation - Data Warehouse data warehouse and TrueSight Network Automation database.
  4. (Applicable for version 19.11.02 or later) If you have a multi-site environment, update passwords for all secondary sites on the secondary node using the update option of the Site Manager Utility.

Setting up the disaster recovery environment for Smart Reporting - Platform

Install Smart Reporting - Platform on a secondary node:

  • (For versions earlier than 20.02) Use the following command to install:

    java -jar <InstallerExecutables>.jar action.nodbaccess=true

The action.nodbaccess=true option runs the installer and prompts for the Smart Reporting - Platform database credentials. It does not create or alter the database during installation and generates only the filesystem component of Smart Reporting. For instructions, see Installing TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform silently.

  • (For version 20.02) Install Smart Reporting - Platform and apply the hotfix. For installation instruction, see Technical bulletin — Announcing hotfix 20.02.00.002.
