Registering BMC ProactiveNet Child Servers with Central Monitoring Administration

When you upgrade a BMC ProactiveNet Server as a Child Server, you must register it with a BMC ProactiveNet Central Server and Central Monitoring Administration. While upgrading from 9.5 to 9.6, the Child Server is already registered with the existing central server and all options provided for the central server are automatically updated for the child server. You may modify the details according to your requirements.

You can also update the settings after the upgrade procedure by using the pw cmadmin command.

Warning

Note

Only the 9.0.00 or later versions of the BMC ProactiveNet Child Server is compatible with Central Monitoring Administration. You cannot register earlier versions of child servers with Central Monitoring Administration.
