Discontinued support for adapters

Effective Dec 20, 2019, the following adapters are no longer supported by BMC. However, the adapters are available in the product.

  • Adapter for HP OM
  • Adapter for IBM Tivoli Monitoring
  • Adapter for BMC TM ART


The following table lists the features that have been deprecated in BMC ProactiveNet version 9.5.

If you are a new BMC ProactiveNet user, you will not be able to view these features. If you are a BMC ProactiveNet user who has upgraded to version 9.6 from earlier versions, some of these features will continue to be available to you. BMC recommends that you discontinue the use of deprecated features and, instead, use the features listed in the "What you can use instead" column in the table below.

From the BMC ProactiveNet Administration Console, Add Monitor

The Add Monitor option allows you to add monitors to BMC ProactiveNet. The monitors you add are displayed in the Monitors folder in the BMC ProactiveNet Administration Console.

Scheduled down time/Schedule Device Downtime

The scheduled down time feature for devices and groups enables BMC ProactiveNet administrators to specify a time range during which the device or group stops collecting data.

Web Transaction Capture

Transferring Files to Agent

Transfer Files to Agents enables the user to select files that need to be transferred to agent(s) and optionally also specify a single destination directory on the agent(s) where all the files will be transferred. This feature is part of Web Transaction Capture.

Virtual Inventory report

The BMC ProactiveNet Virtual Inventory report lists virtual entities such as ESX Hosts or VMs, Clusters or ESX Hosts, and Resource Pools or VMs, along with their performance attributes. This report also lists various configuration attributes and supports drilling down to individual line graphs.
