Installing the Fix Pack on the remote Administration Console
This Fix Pack contains a full installation of the remote BMC ProactiveNet Administration Console. Use the following procedure to install or replace your existing remote BMC ProactiveNet Administration Console with the newer version:
- You can install the remote Administration Console from either the Fix Pack installation files or from Central Monitoring Administration.
- From the Fix Pack installation files:
- From the extracted installation files, access the appropriate folder for your operating system.
- Access the BPPMAdmin\<OS> folder specific to your operating system and extract the contents of the Admin file. From the extracted Admin folder, access the Disk1 folder.
- From the Fix Pack installation files:
- (Windows) Right-click the install.cmd file and select the Run as administrator option to launch the remote Administration Console installer. Do not use the setup.exe file.
(UNIX) Run the ./install.sh command.
- (Windows) Right-click the install.cmd file and select the Run as administrator option to launch the remote Administration Console installer. Do not use the setup.exe file.
From Central Monitoring Administration:
- From the Repository drawer, click Administration Console.
- Select and download the installation file corresponding to the operating system on which you want to install the remote Administration Console.
- Extract the contents of the Admin file. From the extracted Admin folder, access the Disk1 folder.
- (Windows) Right-click the install.cmd file and select the Run as administrator option to launch the remote Administration Console installer.
(UNIX) Run the ./install.sh command.
- Follow the instructions on the installation wizard to complete the installation for the remote Administration Console.
