Installing BMC CMDB Extensions

This Fix Pack contains a full installation of the BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions.

If you have already installed BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions, then you can upgrade to the Extensions available in this Fix Pack. If not, you can do a fresh installation of the BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions.

Note

The BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions in this Fix Pack is compatible with Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Solaris. It is not supported on IBM AIX, HP-UX, and HP-IA64 platforms. 

Ensure that BMC Atrium Core is installed before installing BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions. The following table lists the supported BMC Atrium Core versions:

For publishing to work, download the hotfix NOE_8.1.02_10MAR2016_ SW00504905_ALL from ftp://ftp.bmc.com/pub/NOE_8.1.02_10MAR2016_%20SW00504905_ALL and apply it on BMC Atrium CMDB.

To install BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions

  1. From the installation files, run setup.exe under the CMDB_Extensions\<OS>\Disk1 folder.

  2. Follow the instructions for installing BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions at Installing-BMC-ProactiveNet-CMDB-Extensions.

    Installing on BMC Remedy ITSM 9.1.00

    • To execute BMC Service Resolution 3.5.01 use cases, do not select the Deploy IBRSD Workflow option while installing BMC ProactiveNet CMDB Extensions.
      In case you select this option during installation, disable execution of the BiiARS_HPD:OutBoundStagingForm_Incidentinfo filter using Remedy Developer Studio.
    • To ensure compatibility of BMC Service Resolution 3.0 and 3.0.01 with BMC Remedy ITSM 9.1.00, add the following property under the TraceParametersSrc group in the IBRSD.conf file located at the installationDirectory\pw\integrations\ibrsd\conf directory:
      isITSM35Compilient=true
  3. Integrate BMC Atrium CMDB with BMC ProactiveNet. For more information, see Integrating-BMC-Atrium-CMDB-with-BMC-ProactiveNet.
