Recommendations for configuring the VMware vCenter name in vCloud Director and BMC PATROL

When you are configuring the VMware vCenter name in VMware vCloud Director and in the BMC PATROL Agent that is monitoring VMware vCenter:

  • Use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) as shown in the following figures. This is necessary for the reconciliation to work successfully in BMC ProactiveNet.
  • If the BMC PATROL Agent is already integrated with BMC ProactiveNet using the monitored VMware vCenter name without FQDN, modify or configure the VMware vCenter name in the vCloud Director UI (as shown in the following figure) so that the name in the vCloud Director UI matches with the name on the BMC PATROL Agent.
