Performing a silent uninstallation of the BMC ProactiveNet Server


Uninstallation-related information is not displayed on the console when silent uninstallation begins. However, uninstallation occurs in the background. The progress is logged in a temporary folder during uninstallation.

Perform the following steps to uninstall the BMC ProactiveNet Server:

  1. Locate the following file in the computer on which you have installed the BMC ProactiveNet Server:
    • (Microsoft Windows) installationDirectory\uninstallBPPMServer\uninstall.exe
    • (Linux or SolarisinstallationDirectory/uninstallBPPMServer\uninstall
  2. Run the following command:

    • (Microsoft Windowsuninstall.exe -i silent
    • (Linux or Solaris./uninstall -i silent

    The computer restarts after the uninstallation is complete.

Note

If you have upgraded from an earlier version to BMC ProactiveNet 9.5 or later, after uninstalling BMC ProactiveNet Server, you can find the ProactiveNet9.0 folder in the following directory, which contains the backup files of the earlier BMC ProactiveNet installation:

  • (Microsoft WindowsinstallationDirectory\BMC Software
  • (Linux or SolarisinstallationDirectory/BMC Software

If you have not removed the ProactiveNet9.0 folder before, the folder still continues to exist, even though you have uninstalled BMC ProactiveNet Server. You can manually delete the folder.
