pw user add
The pw user add command enables you to add or duplicate a BMC ProactiveNet user account. The syntax for the command is as follows:
pw user add <user_name>
[-displayname <display_name>]
[-email <mail_id>]
[-usergroup <user_group1,user_group2,...user_groupN>]
[-password <password>]
[-passwordForceChange]
[-passwordExpiryPeriod <period_in_days>]
[-copyfrom <template>]
[-displayname <display_name>]
[-email <mail_id>]
[-usergroup <user_group1,user_group2,...user_groupN>]
[-password <password>]
[-passwordForceChange]
[-passwordExpiryPeriod <period_in_days>]
[-copyfrom <template>]
- <user_name> — A string representing a new user name. This must be unique and it must not be a name which already exists. The command will ignore the user name if the above two criteria are not met.
- -displayname — (Optional) A string representing a display name for the user. If it is not specified, the user name will be set as display name.
- -email — (Optional) Requires a contact email address. Default is blank.
- -usergroup — (Mandatory) A comma-separated string of user group names that the user is assigned to
- -password — (Optional) Password for user. Default password is the name of the user.
- -passwordForceChange — (Optional) Forces the user to change password at first login.
- -passwordExpiryPeriod — (Optional) The period (in days) after which the password expires. If not specified, the password does not expire.
- -copyfrom — (Optional) This option is useful when using an existing user account as a template to add one or more new users to the system. When a template is used, the password and email fields are not duplicated.
