pw system stop
Use the pw system stop command before initiating a reboot, halt, or shutdown on your UNIX or Linux computer.
To reboot BMC ProactiveNet Server:
- Open the command prompt using the Run as administrator option and run the following command:
pw system stop
The return message displays that all processes are being halted. - Continue to shutdown the UNIX or Linux server by using standard UNIX or Linux commands.
- Reboot the UNIX or Linux server. On reboot, all BMC ProactiveNet processes start automatically.
The pw system stop command checks for 30 minutes for a proper shutdown of the dbsrv7 process and displays a message that it is trying to stop it.
If the database server is still running after 30 minutes, the pw system stop command exits. If you run the pw system start command and dbsrv7 is still running, you will not be able to start the BMC ProactiveNet Server. If you get to this point, contact BMC Customer Support.
