Configuring Central Monitoring Administration
Central Monitoring Administration is enabled by default when you install BMC ProactiveNet Central Server, and you can register BMC ProactiveNet Child Servers with the Central Monitoring Administration during child server installation.
A registered BMC ProactiveNet Child Server with associated Integration Services enables policy actions on the following components:
- Connected BMC PATROL Agents with matching conditions
- Monitor instances discovered by those agents
- Devices monitored by those agents
For details about the installation options, see Installing-BMC-ProactiveNet-Server.
Registering BMC ProactiveNet Child Servers with Central Monitoring Administration
If you did not register a BMC ProactiveNet Child Server with the Central Monitoring Administration during child server installation, use the pw cmadmin command to register the child server. In a single-server environment, register the server with its own Central Monitoring Administration.
For information about the pw cmadmin command, see pw-cmadmin.
Importing the extended Central Monitoring Repository file
You can import the extended Central Monitoring Repository file (9.6_extended-yyyymmdd-hhmmss.zip) using the BMC ProactiveNet Central Monitoring Administration. For information about importing the repository files, see Managing-the-repository.
BMC PATROL Agent compatibility
Ensure that BMC PATROL Agents are up to date. For version details, see System-requirements-and-product-compatibility.
