Important information about modifying configuration files

Error
Warning

Do not update the configuration files located in the following directory:

  • (Solaris or Linux)  usr/pw/pronto/conf
  • (Windows) installationDirectory\pronto\conf

If you want to make any configuration changes, you must copy the Variable section from the configuration file located in the pronto\conf directory and paste it into a configuration file of the same name in the custom configuration directory

For example, if you want to make changes to the pnrate.conf file, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a customizable configuration file named, pnrate.conf, in the following directory:
    • (Solaris or Linux) usr/pw/custom/conf
    • (Windows) installationDirectory\custom\conf
  2. Using a text editor, open the pnrate.conf file from the following default configuration directory :
    • (Solaris or Linux) usr/pw/pronto/conf
    • (Windows) installationDirectory\pronto\conf
  3. Copy the Variable section from the /pronto/conf/pnrate.conf file into the /custom/conf/pnrate.conf file that you created in step 1
  4. Make the changes to the configuration parameters in /custom/conf/pnrate.conf
  5. Save and close /custom/conf/pnrate.conf.
