Features of IQ Server KM

The IQ Server KM component of BMC ProactiveNet Sybase Database Monitoring contains the knowledge that PATROL uses to monitor and manage the Sybase IQ Server activities. The IQ Server KM provides a user interface for you to monitor the performance of a Sybase IQ system and to administer the various components of an IQ Server environment.

Using the IQ Server KM, you can:

• monitor the IQ Server error log
• monitor the up and down status of the IQ Server
• view and change Sybase IQ Server configuration information
• temporarily exclude an IQ Server from monitoring without deleting configuration information
• send parameter warning and alarm data to the PATROL Event Manager (PEM) where the data become events managed by the PEM
• for added security, run most SQL commands (menus and parameters) under a general PATROL account rather than the sa account
• display detailed information (an annotation) specific to a data point on a graph
• display predefined parameter charts that measure and correlate key server resources
