Migrating troubleshooting

  • If the migration fails when you execute the migration script, as documented in Migrating existing data, perform the following tasks:
    1. Review the displayed error message.
      1. If the error displayed is specific to application e.g. ORA-00001: unique constraint or ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows. contact BMC Support.
      2. If the error is database infrastructure issue, for example, database down, disk space full, tablespace full or UNDO tablespace full, consult your Oracle DBA.
    2. Back up the following files:
      • migrate_perform_data_9.5.log
      • migrate_impact_data_9.5.log
      • migrate_event_data_9.5.log
    3. Run the following command:
      REDatabaseCli <RE DB USerName> <RE DB USerPassword> migrate_data_to_9.5
    4. Restart the Report Engine service.
  • While migrating existing data, when you copy the Oracle folder from the Report Engine host to Report Engine database host, ensure that the REDatabaseCLI is not corrupted while copying.
