Installing

This section provides information about installing the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Managing Reporting product.

For hardware and software requirements for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting, see Hardware and operating system requirements for BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting. BMC recommends that you install the components of BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Reporting in the following sequence.

1. Install BMC ProactiveNet version 9.5.00. (BMC ProactiveNet supports both Sybase and Oracle Database.)
2. Install Reporting database.
   • Install Oracle Database version 11.2.0.2.0 Enterprise edition with Partitioning option or Oracle Database version 11.2.0.2.0 Standard Edition. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for Oracle Database and a dedicated Oracle instance for BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine.

   • Install Microsoft SQL Server  2008, 2008 R2, or 2012 Standard Edition or Microsoft SQL Server 2008, 2008 R2, or 2012 Enterprise Edition.
     
     

     Note

     Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server is not part of the BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management Suite. It has to be procured by the customers.

      

3. Install BMC Reporting Foundation (SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0) on a separate computer. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise.

4. Install BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine version 9.5.02 on a separate computer. BMC recommends that you have a dedicated computer for BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine.

   Note

   One installation of BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine supports only one BMC ProactiveNet Server.
