Generating Event and Impact reports

Most of the reports have both a graphical format and a tabular format. You can generate reports interactively or schedule background report generation.

If you are importing very large data, you may get the following error:

An Error occurred during chart generation. The chart can not be generated.

To generate reports interactively in BusinessObjects BI 4.0

  1. Select Start > All Programs > SAP BusinessObjects BI Enterprise 4.0 > SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise > SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise Java BI Launch Pad.
  2. Enter your log in credentials and click Log On.
  3. Click the Documents tab.
  4. Expand Folders > Public Folders > BPPM Reports.
  5. Expand either the Event Reports or Impact Reports folder and select the folder for the type of report that you want to create.
  6. All the available reports are displayed in the main pane on the right. Double-click the type of report that you want to generate.
  7. Specify values for the basic parameters required to generate the report:
    1. For service impact reports, you must specify one or more business services.
    2. For all of the reports, you must specify a time range, the interval (daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly), and other report-specific parameters.
  8. Click OK. The report is displayed.
  9. Click Refresh and save the report and then click the hyperlink to go to the sub report.

Business Object report may display #OVERFLOW when a calculation returns a value that is too large for Web Intelligence to handle.
