Step 2: Installing and configuring Reporting database

Before the BMC ProactiveNet Report Engine is installed, you must install and configure Oracle or SQL database so that it can be used as the Reporting database. Perform the following tasks according to the database you want to use:

• Oracle
  1. Install the Oracle Database. For more details, see the Oracle manuals at the Oracle site.
  2. Create table spaces and user as described in Creating-table-spaces-and-user-on-Oracle-database.
• SQL Server
  1. Install the SQL Server Database. For more details, see the SQL Server manuals at the Microsoft site.
  2. Create SQL Server database and user as described in Creating-database-and-user-on-SQL-Server.
