Creating a new Oracle database connection
You can create a database connection using a JDBC driver or an Oracle client.
To create a database connection using JDBC drivers
- After importing the BPPM_DataMart.lcmbiar file, in the Repository Resources tab, click Insert Session.
- In the Open Session dialog box, specify the System, User Name, and Password and click OK
- Right -click Connections > Insert Relational Connection.
- In the New Relational Connection dialog box, enter the Resource Name and Description (optional).
- Click Next.
- In the Database Middleware Driver Selection screen, expand Oracle > Oracle 11 and select JDBCDrivers. Click Next.
- In the Parameters for Oracle Connection screen, enter the following details:
- In the Authentication Mode list, select Use specified user name and password.
- Type the values that you populated in the Planning sheet for installation and configuration.
- User Name — type the reuniv as user name.
- Password — type the password for the user, by default, the password is reuniv.
- Servers — type the database host name and the port in the following format. The default port number is 1521.

For example, foo.zz.com:1521 - Net Service — type in the Oracle_SID.
- Click Next.
To create a database connection using an Oracle client
- After importing the BPPM_DataMart.lcmbiar file, in the Repository Resources tab, click Insert Session.
- In the Open Session dialog box, specify the following details:
- System— type the host name
- User Name — type reuniv as the user name.
- Password — type the password for the user, by default, the password is reuniv.
- Click OK
- Right -click Connections > Insert Relational Connection.
- In the New Relational Connection dialog box, enter the Resource Name and Description (optional).
- Click Next.
- In the Database Middleware Driver Selection screen, select Oracle Client. Click Next
- In the Parameters for Oracle Connection screen, enter the following details:
- In the Authentication Mode list, select Use specified user name and password.
- Type the values that you populated in the Planning sheet for installation and configuration.
- Click Next.
- In the Configuration Parameters page, type in the values that you populated in the Planning sheet for installation and configuration, and click Next.
- In the Custom Parameters page, set the appropriate values for the custom parameters.
The parameters that appear depend on the other parameters that you have set. - Click Finish.
A new connection is created, and in the Connection list, the new connection appears selected. - Click OK.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
